  1. Hi
Escuse my ignorance, but what is “Boursin cheese”? Have never heard of it here in RSA.
    Thks

    • Boursin is a brand of cheese from (http://www.boursincheese.com/). Boursin is made by Bel Brands USA, a subsidiary of Fromageries Bel, a family-owned cheese maker headquartered in Paris, France. It is available from Amazon.com.

    • Hi Conrad –

You can actually make this at home if you have the ingredients, search online for homemade boursin cheese and you’ll find a recipe!

    • Charlotte Y. Dills says:

Boursin cheese is a soft cheese usually flavored with garlic, in Europe they also have black peppercorn . I am a international flight attendant and fell in love with Boursin cheese. I noticed that they now sell it at Meijers and Krogers grocery store in the special cheese section. Atlas it cost a lot more then it does overseas.

      • Many thanks. I have never seen it in any of our major supermarkets but will check out the delis.
        Enjoy!

  2. Do you suppose other soft deli cheeses would work similarly? (I’m thinking Laughing Cow, for example)

    =^..^=

    • Boursin and Laughing Cow are NOT very similar. Boursin has more of a whipped cream cheese texture, with herbs added. You could probably substitute garlic & herb spreadable cream cheese by Philadelphia, but Boursin is much nicer as it has a melt in your mouth texture (and a bit pricier, at least where I live).

  3. Can you replace olive oil in all recipes that use butter?

  4. Just made this. Simple and fantastic! I deviated slightly and added maybe 1/8-1/4 cup broth to help the mushrooms cook down. Saved me from a bowl full of spaghetti NO-NOs!! Thank you 🙂
